Thanks to the win at Eden Gardens on Sunday (January 22), England not only managed to win a One-Day International at the venue, but also managed to get their first win of the tour. It was their first win in eight international games – five Tests and three ODIs. After a draw in the first Test in Rajkot, England lost the next six games on the trot.

All the three ODIs were high-scoring affairs. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the aggregate of 2090 runs is the highest recorded in a three-match bilateral series.
