With Shannon Gabriel unavailable for selection due to injury, Windies named a 13-man squad under Jason Holder to do battle in the first two games of the five-match One-Day International series against India.

The first two matches will be played at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain on June 23 and June 25 respectively.

Gabriel, the fast bowler, walked off the park after bowling just 7.4 overs against Afghanistan in the second ODI on June 11 with a side strain and is unavailable for selection, a press release from Cricket Windies said. Gabriel will continue his rehabilitation in Port of Spain.

Windies drew their three-match series against Afghanistan 1-1 – the final match was washed out – and need a good result to earn automatic qualification to the 2019 World Cup in England. The 1975 and 1979 World Cup winners are currently ranked No. 9 on the ICC ODI table.

Virat Kohli’s Indian team will land in Port of Spain on Tuesday from London following their 180-run defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the Champions Trophy final on Sunday.

The Indian team includes two uncapped players in Rishabh Pant, the hard-hitting left-hand batsman, and Kuldeep Yadav, the left-arm Chinaman bowler.

Windies squad: Jason Holder (capt), Devendra Bishoo, Jonathan Carter, Roston Chase, Miguel Cummins, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Evin Lewis, Jason Mohammed, Ashley Nurse, Kieran Powell, Rovman Powell, Kesrick Williams.
