South Africa thrashed New Zealand by 159 runs in Wellington on Saturday (February 25) and took a 2-1 lead in the five-match One-Day International series. 

AB de Villiers was the highest impact player and batsman of the third ODI. 

South Africa’s captain started cautiously and finished as the top scorer (80-ball 85). His knock had Strike Rate Impact and Partnership-Building Impact. He had Fielding Impact (one catch) and Captaincy Impact as well.

Dwaine Pretorius was the highest impact bowler following an impressive effort with the ball. He claimed three wickets (3 for 5 in 5.2 overs) — including two top-middle order scalps — and had the highest Economy Impact in the match.

And for his all-round showing, Colin de Grandhomme finished as New Zealand’s highest impact player (2 for 40 in ten overs and an unbeaten run-a-ball 34).

While four New Zealanders and three South Africans failed this evening, the home team had no answer to the high impact performances of de Villiers, Quinton de Kock (70-ball 68), Wayne Parnell (32-ball 35, followed by 2 for 33 in eight overs) and Pretorius.
