All Premier Tier ‘A’ and Tier ‘B’ clubs have been left shell shocked after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) issued them one day’s notice to provide samples of coloured clothing to be used for the SLC Major Tournament 2016/17 Limited over and T20 Tournaments.

The launch of this tournament is scheduled for February 14 at the R. Premadasa Staidum where the Board has asked the entire team including the support staff to be present in full one-day playing kit.

However, they have been asked to send the samples of full playing kit by 3. p.m on Thursday for inspection.“How can you do it in such a short notice? It’s not something you can get off the shelf and wonder why they waited so long to inform us about the playing kit,” a concerned club official asked.

“We were only informed of this yesterday (8) and they want it by today (9). How is that possible,” he asked. SLC through its Communication Department has emailed all 24 playing clubs on Wednesday evening to comply with the Board’s request.
